Award-winning Anglo-Trinidadian vocalist, composer and lyricist, Tessa Souter, imbues a mix of jazz and stunning originals with the soul and passion of flamenco, Indian and Middle Eastern music. From her 2004 debut, Listen Love, to 2013's, Beyond the Blue (for the multi-Grammy-nominated Motéma label) – which features jazz interpretations of classical repertoire with her own "exhilaratingly mature lyrics." (Neil Tesser, Chicago Examiner), and which was Number 6 on the UK Sunday Times' Top 10 Best Jazz Releases of 2013 – Tessa's soul-touching voice, individual arrangements, and lyrics to rarely sung instrumentals, are much admired by her peers. ALAN BROADBENT
Multiple Grammy-winning pianist/composer/arranger Alan Broadbent has been in demand as a pianist and arranger ever since he joined Woody Herman's big band in 1969. He was also invited into the studio scene as a pianist for the great Nelson Riddle, David Rose and Johnny Mandel and, from the early 90s until Charlie Haden's death, was a long-standing member of Charlie Haden's Quartet West. Beloved among singers for his iconic long-standing musical relationship with the legendary Irene Kral, which began in 1972, he is Diana Krall's conductor for her occasional orchestra concerts and is the conductor on her Live in Paris DVD. Recently he wrote six string arrangements for Sir Paul McCartney's Kisses On The Bottom with the London Symphony.He was pianist on Natalie Cole's Unforgettable CD, winning his first Grammy for "Best Orchestral Arrangement Accompanying a Vocal". He won his second Grammy for an orchestral accompaniment written for Shirley Horn of "Lonely Town". As a soloist and with his jazz trio, Alan has been nominated for Grammys twice for best instrumental performance.

YASUSHI NAKAMURA
First-call bassist, Yasushi Nakamura was born in Tokyo and grew up in Seattle and began his musical training at age 11, with clarinet and tenor saxophone, switching to bass at age 14. A graduate of Berklee College of music, he received a full scholarship to the Juilliard School, graduating from the AD Program in Jazz Studies in 2006. He has performed all over the world with jazz greats including Carl Allen, Wynton Marsalis, Hank Jones, Clarence Penn, Jon Davis, Wycliffe Gordon and more.
