Pascalito with Neostalgia: Double CD Release at Metropolitan Room

Tonight Saturday March 14, 2015 Pascalito with Neostalgia (special guest Tessa Souter) Double CD Release Concert at Metropolitan Room, NYC. Featuring: Pascalito (vocals), Luiz Simas (piano), Leco Reis (bass) with special guests: Tessa Souter (vocals) and Barbara Blonska (flute)

Mediterranean by heart, Parisian by birth, New Yorker by choice, Latin by soul, French singer-composer Pascalito is releasing two video-documented live albums on March 14, 2015 introducing his new international jazz band Neostagia. The first five-track EP Forbidden Colours was completed at the Bennett Studios, just before the renowned facility closed. The second disc Citizen Chanteur Live in NYC features a full show of 14 songs that was recorded and filmed at the intimate midtown Manhattan venue Metropolitan Room. Born Pascal Sabattier, in Paris, to a musical family of North African and Spanish Jewish descent, Pascalito showcases an eclectic and bilingual repertoire filled with inspired compositions, imaginative covers and heartfelt interpretations in both English and French. Brazilian pianist Luiz Simas, musical director for these two projects, provides elegant arrangements complementing Pascalito's smooth tone in a fluid musical melting pot blending jazz, pop, bossa nova, noir-ish night music, seductive Spanish-tinged melodies, swing, chanson and tango. Bandleader, songwriter, vocalist or as he likes to define himself "world chanteur", Pascalito relocated to New York from Paris with a risk analyst day job at a global investment bank in the late 90's. He has since emerged as a promising talent on the local jazz and world music scene performing at such venues as Poisson Rouge, Kitano, Metropolitan Room, Something Jazz and the French Institute. Pascalito has produced and released two prior studio albums. Le Blues d'Orphée (2007) brought the artist national exposure when original selections from the debut CD were licensed and featured in the popular cable network series Burn Notice (USA), Damages (FX) and NCIS Los Angeles (CBS). His world pop jazz crossover sophomore release, Neostalgia (2011), further established his reputation as both a singer and a songwriter.
