Central Brooklyn Jazz Fest 2015

Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium announces its 16th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival-"Where Jazz Lives" from April 17 thru May 17. This year NEA Jazz Master saxophonist Lou Donaldson performs as are other international and regional jazz artists. Festival 2015 celebrates Brooklyn's contributions to the African influenced art form called Jazz. Nearly 50 events and more than 500 musicians expected to perform at venues throughout New York City.

This music series is NYC's longest running grass roots festival dedicated to Jazz.

In accord with UNESCO's world-wide jazz programs Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival 2015 offers variations of this music from Brazil, Cuba, the Caribbean, Italy, and Mexico. Jazz artists with a global appeal such as Arturo O'Farrill, Wycliffe Gordon, Vivian Sessoms, Rudresh Mahanthappa, T.K. Blue, Dwight Brewster, Akua Dixon, Gerry Eastman, and Jeff King, just to name some, will present their interpretations
