Umbria Italian music festival to attract Jazz fans from all over the world

Landscapes immersed in green valleys and hills; medieval villages and evocative places which encapsulate natural treasures such as Lake Trasimeno or the Marmore's Falls and which recall the history and the main traditions of central Italy. And then music, lots of music. This is what tourists and jazz fans will find once again this year in Umbria between December and January, during the winter edition of Umbria Jazz, one of the most important Italian music festivals.

Orvieto has been the stage of the Umbria Jazz Festival since 1993: a week of shows, high-level exhibitions and events involving a wide audience; all with the common thread of music, every hour of the day and late into the night: jazz, blues, gospel, soul.

From December 27th to January 1st, 2015, the calendar offers six days in the company of people such as Joe Lovano, Chris Potter, Anat Cohen, Paolo Fresu, Danilo Rea, Davell Crawford, Jonathan Batiste, gathered in theatres, palaces (Palazzo del Popolo and Palazzo dei Sette), squares and streets of one of the most beautiful cities in the region.
The Mass for Peace to the rhythm of gospel in the Orvieto Cathedral on 1st January shouldn't be missed, its beautiful facade is one of the symbols of Italian Gothic and inside it houses masterpieces by Luca Signorelli and the relics of a twelfth century Eucharistic miracle.
