The Brazilian Trio Appearing November 14 & 15 Jazz At Kitano 8 and 10PM

Many people think Maucha Adnet is the most soulful Brazilian vocalist performing today; certainly her voice is warm, textured, and sexy, and her delivery is passionate, classy, and informed by a keen musical intelligence. The great Antonio Carlos Jobimknew all this, choosing to perform and record with Adnet for the last decade of his life.

Brazilian Trio is a masterful amalgamation of musician/composer/arranger friends dedicated to perpetuating the artful blend of Brazilian classical music and jazz. The trio consists of pianist Helio Alves, bassist Nilson Matta and drummer Duduka Da Fonseca. Their 2009 debut CD, Forests, netted them a coveted Grammy nomination for Best Latin Jazz Album right off the bat, validating their musical mission with passion and appreciation.
