The Jumpin' Quails "Atomic Rendez-vous" is out now!

Although they formed in the first decade of the century, the Jumpin' Quails, from Turin, Italy, don't present the most expected features of a band from the 2000s. If not for the sounds, of course being shaped on a present-age style, as for the mood and the attitude the Jumpin' Quails have their roots in the past, conforming to the very essence of pop music: the Song.

Atomic Rendez-vous is an album consisting of classic-shape songs, "verse-chorus-verse", written with one ear to the first FM radios and one foot on the dance floor.
Atomic Rendez-vous is not a politically involved work; it's rather a row of eight milestones that trace a seductive and freakish journey within the boundaries of the night: from the dance floor to the bed sheets, from exaltation to disenchantment.

Atomic Rendez-vous is a pure recording effort: it's acid, rock, twisted, and above all it's proud of its ingredients, depicting a production that doesn't adapt to a certain referential style; on the contrary, it means to stand out through the integrity of a true and tangible work.

Atomic Rendez-vous was recorded, produced and mixed at NoMad Studio by Ezra (Casino Royale), and later enhanced through the mastering by Gianluca Patrito at G-Effect Mastering Studio.

ABOUT
The Jumpin' Quails form in mid-2007, settling their headquarters in the dense Turin underworld. It's four of them, each one coming from a different musical formation. By summing them all up, at the beginning the tutelary deities are the Kinks, Blues Magoos, Link Wray, Velvet Underground, Suicide, and the Clash.

From the very start, the Jumpin' Quails are involved into a dense live activity on the stages of the garage-rock European environment. Since the first concerts, the band combines the features of that music genre with the Jumpin' Quails' distinctive brands: fuzzing guitars, pop refrains and keyboards. The Jumpin' Quails have been playing shows in France, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Belgium, Switzerland, and Holland. They pushed themselves to Eastern Europe as well, performing on stages ranging from Greece to Slovenia, through Kosovo, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia and Croatia. The live tours evolve as for kilometres and coordinates, not only geographically: the sounds are evolving, some of the surf guitars leave the place to new dance-floor flavoured synthesizers. The songs grow in personality, the Jumpin' Quails may remind many bands but they actually look like nobody else.

Shortly after the latest tour, the Jumpin' Quails tighten the ranks at the NoMad Studio, in Turin's downtown, to shape the songs and the sounds of the forthcoming album. New album Atomic Rendez-vous comes into the world, being a pure recording effort: it's acid, rock, and twisted, and describes the band's sound at its best.

PRESS
Music In Belgium - BE

"The Jumpin' Quails have made it work displaying an irresistible quirkiness..... the British music scene has got a lot to learn." Subba-Cultcha - UK

"Once again, European bands show far more sense of adventure than most American or British bands would ever do." BluesBunny - UK

Muzzart - France
