Be the first to hear Washboard XT as it dives head first into repertory of Gerry Eastman and Joe Ford whose music is modern, challenging to play yet, accessible with beautiful melodies and blues underneath it all. Newman Taylor Baker "discovered" the washboard four years ago when working with the Ebony Hillbillies. His hands "just knew what to do" and seemed to reach through the rhythm of the ages to express an otherwise imperceptible part of a lifelong journey home. From 19th century Black String band, bluegrass, zydeco and folk music to the beginnings of jazz through the 1950s, the washboard has been a major force in American music.
