Geni Skendo Releases Exciting New CD, "Acoustic Cowboy"

After a successful performing career in his native Albania, Geni moved to the US in 2003 to raise his jazz playing to a higher level. His studies at the Berklee College of Music and The New England Conservatory (MM) led to a deep, ongoing involvement with the Boston music scene.

The style of the new release might be categorized as "if Jazz & the World had a baby"!

Geni and his compadres play original compositions & some arrangements of songs from Messiaen, African Pygmies & the Balkans. They also play a beautiful composition from Geni's first jazz teacher, Matt Marvuglio.

The instrumentation is

Geni Skendo - Bass Flute/Shakuhachi/Glissando HJ C Flute
Ben Levin - Guitar
Takeshi Ohbayashi - Piano/Keys
Bruno Raberg - Bass
Noriko Terada - Perc
Dave Fox - Drums

Recorded @ Frogpond Studios
Mixing Vince Welch
Mastering Randy Roos @ SquamSound
Produced by Geni Skendo & Stephen Herbert
