26.03.2024 Jack Wood has long been a popular attraction in the Southern California jazz scene. His warm voice and tasteful swinging style have won over many fans due to his classy treatments of classics from the Great American Songbook. The Gal That Got Away consists of some of Wood's finest recordings. On several of the numbers he is featured with the Salt Lake City Jazz Orchestra (performing Tom Garvin arrangements) while other selections have him singing swingers and ballads with a combo. At various times his supporting cast includes altoist Greg Floor, flugelhornist Buddy Childers, guitarists Ron Anthony and Doug MacDonald, and pianist Tom Ranier among others. read more

She's known for singing while playing guitar and bass, using mouth percussion to create unique percussive sounds. Born in São Paulo, she pioneered the "one-woman-band" style, blending vocal percussion and body rhythms. After collaborating in Mulheres de Hollanda, she gained recognition through albums like Solo and Chameleon, despite facing focal dystonia. In 2020, she released Around the World, and in 2021, she was featured on Arooj Aftab's GRAMMY-winning Vulture Prince. Her journey continued with Ilha in 2022, and she is currently touring the world in support of this great catalogue of beloved and fresh Brazilian music. read more
