| Lee Torchia Swings Jazz & Raga Lee Torchia Swings Jazz and Raga - Tuesday, March 18, 7 pm - 8:15 pm, Metropolitan Room (34 West 22 St. (5th & 6th Ave). Lee Torchia is one of the most innovative women in jazz today performing swinging jazz and East Indian Classical Music (Ragas). She is a 20-year Disciple of Pandit Pran Nath, and long-time student of La Monte Young. Lee will premiere her pioneering JazzRaga fusion of "Caravan" with "Raga Bhairevi" followed by jazz standards: love songs, blues and swing. Joining her is the grammy-nominated pianist, James Weidman, Paul Beaudry on Bass, Naren Budhakar on Tabla, and G.
