A cocktail reception held at China Pavilion, R04.01 on Feb 1, Saturday 18:00.

"This album represents a joint Chinese and French production collaboration. It has a special meaning for the two countries. During 2014 France and China will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of their diplomatic relations, " explained Yanbin Zang, Vice President of Shanghai Synergy Culture & Entertainment Group and the General Manager of a-Peer Synergy Culture & Technology Co., Ltd.

'Smile' is a collaboration with leading international and Chinese producers that was recorded in Paris and Shanghai. The recording is a unique blend of pop, classical, jazz and world music styles.

Ruhan effectively uses her singing talent in English, Italian, French, old English and Chinese Daizu languages. Her duets with international artists like The Italian Tenors and I Quattro from Switzerland creates a more diverse and compelling album that evokes a wide range of emotions.

"We first met Ruhan Jia at the 2012 MIDEM festival in Cannes, where we listened to her first album, 'Time to Grow, ' for the first time. We were so impressed by her singing talent that we immediately invited her to participate in our project 'Proud to Be, ' a multinational production for INTERPOL, " said Laurent Dreux-Blanc, President of XIII Biz Music.

The first impression of Ruhan's talent was confirmed while recording 'Proud to Be' in Johannesburg. Her vivacious and generous personality inspired everyone in the studio, and her professionalism made her talent shine. XIII Biz decided to record a new album in collaboration with the Ruhan's management company, a-Peer Synergy Shanghai Culture & Technology Co.

In July 2012 in a studio in Paris Ruhan met the internationally renowned producers Renй Mцckel and Pavle Kovacevic. The Italian Tenors and I Quattro enthusiastically joined the project. They combined the clarity and power of their men's choir in perfect harmony with the vivaciousness of Ruhan's pure and wholesome voice.

Other pieces on the album were inspired by the traditional Chinese music of the Daizu minority. These works were recorded in China in 2013 by one of the country's greatest producers, Huang Hui, who gave this album a matchless flavour in the world of neo-classical music.

This album will be promoted using a mobile "Album App, " which was recently developed and tested in China. The App allows consumers to share album clips with their friends, which builds large online audiences for artist's work. The new Album App is an exciting new way to distribute album releases through China's massive mobile and social media networks.

Additional new tracks will be recorded for international version of the album. The album is scheduled for international release during the summer of 2014.
