Sofijazz sassy introduction to the music of Horace Silver

Jazz sensation, Sofijazz, takes the stage at the Metropolitan Room Sunday night the 24th of November at 9:30pm to start out her first performance of the "Music of Horace Silver" tour. "I am absolutely psyched to be able to perform at this wonderful venue and sing on the stage where icons like Annie Ross and Blossom Dearie performed", said Sofija. "It's going to be one of the most memorable times of my life, I am also honored to be playing with these brilliant musicians in my band, they make this experience even better."

Sofijazz, began her career at the age of 7 when she started touring the world and singing at various venues. She has performed at many music festivals and award shows. She recently graduated the 'Betty Carter Jazz Ahead' program at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC and was nominated in the finals of this years World Song Contest with her single 'Lipstick'. This year she was also performing in an award winning movie 'Love Comes After', and appeared in the newly published Jazz Encyclopedia 'Serbian Jazz, Bre'. She also became an ambassador of health for the CYE (AOECS), and since August 2013 is officially one of MTV's artists. This latest recognition solidifies her posterity with artists the likes of Dee Dee Bridgewater, Dianne Reeves etc.

"Next Sunday we're going to do our thing and we really hope the audience enjoys being a part of our musical journey ", said Sofija. "It's going to be unforgettable, we have new funny lyrics and beautiful arrangements that I prepared for this show together with the help of my partner Elliot Mason . I want to thank the fans for being so supportive and hungry for jazz".
