Peter & Will Anderson Sextet at Louis Armstrong House Museum

Louis Armstrong House Museum welcomes Peter & Will Anderson Sextet, one of NYC's hottest jazz bands, to Louis's house on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 2pm. This is the final concert in the museum's Hot Jazz / Cool Garden Summer Concert Series and it's a must-have ticket this summer. To top off the irresistible sounds of this sextet, the concert includes a complimentary sample of red beans n' rice (Louis's favorite recipe) & sweet tea all served up in Louis's garden. Advance tickets are $18 and include a historic house tour pass (good for six months). Tickets can be purchased online at LouisArmstrongHouse.org. Advance purchase is suggested; only limited tickets available at the door for $20.

About the Peter & Will Anderson Sextet:
The Peter & Will Anderson Sextet features Peter and Will Anderson - the two Juilliard-educated masters of the clarinet and saxophone. They will be bringing along trumpeter Jon-Erik Kellso (who just performed to a sold-out crowd in Louis's garden with his EarRegulars on July 20), pianist Ehud Asherie, bassist Clovis Nicolas and drummer Phil Stewart.

Peter and Will Anderson's expertise has made them saxophonists of choice for Wynton Marsalis, Jimmy Heath, the Village Vanguard Orchestra, Wycliffe Gordon, Michael Feinstein and the New York City Ballet. Leading their own ensemble, they've performed at Dizzy's Club Coca-Cola, Iridium, Symphony Space, Blues Alley, East Coast Jazz Fest, Mid-Atlantic Jazz Fest, New Jersey Jazz Society, Pennsylvania Jazz Society, 54 Below, Highlights in Jazz, Buck-Hill Skytop Music Fest, Treetops Music Fest, Central Illinois Jazz Fest, Jacob Burns Film Center, Louis Armstrong House, Bickford Museum Theater, Stony Brook and Michigan State Universities.

They have produced and performed in two highly-acclaimed off-broadway jazz shows at 59E59 Theaters in 2010 and 2012, honoring Artie Shaw and the Dorsey Brothers, the last of which sold out for 30 consecutive shows. Peter and Will are featured in HBO's Boardwalk Empire and on the Grammy-winning soundtrack with Vince Giordano's Nighthawks, with whom they frequently perform.

"Virtuosos on clarinet and saxophone" (New York Times) and "Remarkable" (Wall Street Journal), identical twins Peter and Will Anderson have distinguished themselves as top-level jazz players and composers in New York City. Their recent CD, Correspondence, has been garnering rave reviews. "They're two young men who seem to have been implanted with a lifetime of experience at birth, " Marc Myers wrote in a review of the CD. "Now they have jazz world by the tail. It will be interesting to see how they swing it."
