David Maxwell's "Maximum Blues Piano" unplugged -- Regattabar, August 22, 2013

David Maxwell's Maximum Blues Piano unplugged, accompanied by Marty Ballou, Marty Richards, and surprise guests. Thursday, August 22, 7:30 pm. Regattabar at the Charles Hotel, One Bennett Street, Cambridge, MA 02138.

Blues master David Maxwell goes unplugged. No distractions, just full focus on the keys. Maxwell will draw from his prodigious Maximum Blues repertoire, including material he originally recorded on his popular 1998 "Maximum Blues Piano" album. The rhythm section from that recording, Marty Ballou on bass and Marty Richards on drums, will join Maxwell as he stretches out, adding some "soul jazz" edge here and venturing further beyond there as exhibited in his most recent CD "Blues In Other Colors, " recorded last year.

Expect a surprise guest or two to join Maxwell on a few numbers.

"Maximum Blues Piano is a great ride."
Bonnie Raitt
