“Jazz and Blues” Night with Bassist Buddy Sampson

Buddy Sampson, Bassist and Composer, will host a "Jazz and Blues" Night to benefit Children's Hospital Los Angeles. Joining him will be other popular musicians and vocalists who have performed with some of the best jazz and blues musicians in the country.

The event will be held on June 22, 2013, from 5:30-10PM at the beautiful venue, Hemingway's, located on the 1st floor of 6356 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90028. Buddy's ensemble will feature Rachel Grace on violin. Also on the show are jazz group The Scribes, singer/songwriter Javelyn, and the exciting group Crosstown Traffic for a very special evening featuring Jazz, Blues and Funk. Open Cash Bar to the Public. Tickets: $10 a person in advance or $15 at the door. 100% of net proceeds will go to Children's Hospital Los Angeles.

Buddy Sampson, widely known in Los Angeles as the Publisher of The Scoop LA, www.thescoopla.com, is a talented bassist and songwriter. He has written for independent films and performed in several countries, including the British Virgin Islands, Germany, Switzerland, Costa Rica and France. In 1999, he performed with singer Larry Woodley for the Montreux Jazz Festival and had the opportunity to jam with legendary guitarist Steve Cropper and rocker legend Edgar Winter. His original compositions and chops will be on display at Hemingway's. Opening the show will be The Scribes, featuring jazz journalist Scott Yanow on saxophone, classical writer for The LA Times' Richard Ginell on keyboards, Dean Rohan on drums and Buddy Sampson on bass. Singer/songwriter Javelyn will perform as well. Exciting jazz and funk band Crosstown Traffic is also on the show. Closing the show will be Buddy Sampson and Friends, featuring violinist Rachel Grace.
