The Magic Band Celebrating The Music Of Captain Beefheart

Sharing a vision to celebrate the music of the late Don Van Vliet, aka Captain Beefheart, longstanding Magic Band members Denny "Feelers Rebo" Walley, Mark "Rockette Morton" Boston, and John "Drumbo" French will join forces with guitarist Eric Klerks and drummer Craig Bunch at Under the Bridge on March 16th for a night of classic Beefheart tunes.

Bringing their mixture of avant-garde jazz and delta blues back to London for the first time since a sellout show at Scala in 2011, The Magic Band have received worldwide acclaim for their ability to re-visit the original recordings with both technical and soulful accuracy, much to the joy of Beefheart fans everywhere.

Captain Beefheart was a truly innovative artist. Possessing a remarkable four-and-a-half-octave vocal range, he drew on influences from jazz, blues and rock & roll to create a singular body of work virtually unrivalled in its creativity. While mainstream success eluded him, Beefheart's impact on modern day music was incalculable, and he will go down in history as one of the most unique and daring artists of his generation.
