13th Annual Roots on the River Festival

The thirteenth annual Roots on the River Music Festival is scheduled to run from June 7th to 10th 2012, and promises to be the best ever! So mark your calendars, get your tickets early, and perhaps add some gift tickets to your shopping basket as well!

Roots on the River has grown into an immensely popular four-day festival that draws musicians and concertgoers from around the world. Tickets are now on sale, and the lineup of artists is shaping up nicely, an exciting mix from many facets of our country's musical heritage.

Appearing, as he has every year with a new set of stories to punctuate his performances, will be perennial headliner Canadian Fred Eaglesmith and his band, of course, as well as many other favorites of his group's fans, affectionately known as "Fredheads."

The concert is always family and pet friendly, and smoke-free.

Thursday night's opening show will feature regional artists at 33 Bridge Street, an historic mill building with a large dance floor, located right on the Connecticut River.

On Friday, the village of Bellows Falls will be alive with the sound of music wafting through the air with a series of six free open-air concerts around the Square and the farmers' market. Then, the evening stage will be set at the Big Tent festival site at the Everyday Inn for the promise of a great weekend of music.

Saturday is always exciting, with a full lineup of artists all day and well into the evening. A popular Saturday feature is a Kids' Tent with organized activities, games, and refreshments provided throughout the day.

Over the course of the weekend, more than 20 sets will be offered! Free parking at all venues, and lots of great food!

Sunday's popular all-acoustic concert at the historic Rockingham Meeting House calms the mood and brings a lovely close to the weekend.
