Bannockburn Green Announces Summer Concert Series

There's music in the air at Bannockburn Green, as the community celebrates the completion of the center's recent renovations. In a series of live summer concerts, Bannockburn Green encourages families to come as they are, shop, dine, enjoy the community, and stay for the music under the stars. Fridays: July 25, August 1, August 8 and August 15 • 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., local musical groups will perform as a casual audience enjoys the beautifully landscaped outdoor Plaza. From folk to rock, Bannockburn Green's free summer concerts will present:

July 25: Joseph "JB" Brown | Saxophone Flute Vocals
Words to live by: If you don't live it, it doesn't come out of your horn. Studied with Fred Waidener (Desi Arnez Orchestra) Bunky Green (Jazz Great). Shared the stage with Wynton Marsalis, Bunky Green, Lorrie Anderson, Rick Derringer and Kathrine Davis.

August 1: Chris Castelli | currently is the lead guitar player and main singer and songwriter for Dynamite Blu, a funk rock based band out of Chicago. Chris has been playing many different musical styles of guitar, bass and piano for the past 18 years. Such styles include blues, funk, rock, jazz, soul, R&B, and even Latin guitar. Chris has worked and recorded with legendary producers such as; Bob Ezrin, (who
was responsible for albums such as Pink Floyd's The Wall, and The Kiss Destroyer album). Chris has also had the honor of backing up some of the finest musicians such as Darell Couts (keyboard player for Buddy Guy and Lonnie Brooks).

August 8: Andi and I | have been taking audiences on an emotional roller coaster ride for over 12 years. With just two voices and an acoustic guitar, Al and Andi Tauber cross a variety of musical genres and bring original songs that are poignant and insightful, often subtle, and sometimes irreverent. With Al's articulate playing and
Andi's whisper-to-roar vocals, this is one ride you won't soon forget. The duo's CDs, Days Like This (1996) and Harder (2003) are available through their web site, www.andiandi.com.

August 15: Green Choby | Singer-songwriter and guitarist. Carolyn Green has always taken aim to create what is both vulnerable and upbeat. But when the chatty bassist and guitarist, Mike Choby began to fill out her music in 1995, she seemed to have a whole lot more fun doing it.

Together they produced Carolyn's CD "Part of the Fabric Here" (1996), then after officially becoming GreenChoby, "Contentment" (1998), "Big City" (2000) and "Hold the Line" (2004). Their latest project, "Carry Me Back Home" is due out soon. The style still delivers compelling songwriting that is simultaneously rootsy and urban, compassionate and up-lifting.

The concerts are a part of an ongoing initiative to create a neighborhood gathering place-making the center much more than just a place to shop. In addition to attractive alfresco dining and the opening of Panera Bread this summer, Bannockburn Green merchants are also celebrating. As customers shop and enjoy the center's upgrades, including free WiFi-they will find discounts and specials from select merchants throughout the summer.

Bannockburn Green Shopping Center is located at the southeast corner of Waukegan Road and Half Day Road (Route 22).
