Jacqui Dankworth's Scottish Blood Draws Her Back To Tour....

With Scottish blood in her veins, Jacqui Dankworth takes a unique opportunity to tour Scotland in June. When the offer to perform in Scotland with just two guitarists as her band was made to leading British vocalist Jacqui Dankworth, the Campbell blood in her veins made her take up the challenge in earnest. Not content to perform this rare show once, she instructed her agent to request a string of dates all over Scotland, the response to which was phenomenal.

"I have never taken this show to Scotland before, it is something I did a while ago in the UK at just a few venues, but it's such a different and beautiful way to hear the songs we usually do as a full band that I decided that a mini tour would be great if the Theatres were interested…but they all loved the idea and I'm really looking forward to the shows. I have performed in Scotland many times before and I always love coming back, especially as my mother's father was a Campbell" JD

Jacqui will be joined by two of the finest guitarists in the UK, Mike Walker and Chris Allard, for this extraordinary tour that starts at The Brunton Theatre, Musselburgh on June 3rd, then moves onto Wick, Inverness, Bathgate, Dumfermline, Arbroath, Glasgow, Langholm, and ends at Falkirk Town Hall on the 12th. It is no surprise that Jacqui Dankworth, the undisputed "Princess Of Jazz", is known as one of the finest singers of her generation. Daughter of Dame Cleo Laine and Sir John Dankworth, Jacqui's musical pedigree is in no doubt, however, it was several years before Jacqui was persuaded to take up the microphone. With two award winning albums and many others behind her, Jacqui is now touring the UK with material from a new record, a group of the finest British musicians and a show not to be missed. Her live concert draws on all kinds of influences including Jazz, Soul, Folk and Blues, many of which have been specially re-arranged for these intimate Scottish dates.

"There are very few singers that can sound so good on record and even better when you see them live on stage, Jacqui Dankworth is one of the few who sounds fantastic all the time!" – Michael Parkinson
