The Jammy Awards Announce 7th Jammy Awards Lineup

The Jammy Awards will be held Wednesday, May 7, 2008 at The WaMu Theater at Madison Square Garden. Tickets are on sale now via Ticketmaster and at the Madison Square Garden Box Office. For more information go to Jammys.com.

In addition to the Co-Hosts, Warren Haynes and Grace Potter, the 7th Jammy Awards are pleased to announce that the following artists will perform: Booker T. Jones, Christian McBride, Fab Faux, Galactic, Glenn Tillbrook of Squeeze, HeadCount All-Stars, Jake Cinninger of Umphrey's McGee, James Carter, Joe Russo, Jon Gutwillig, Kyle Hollingsworth of String Cheese Incident, Los Lonely Boys, Marc Brownstein, Matisyahu, Page McConnell, Rose Hill Drive, Sharon Jones, Tea Leaf Green and Todd Park Mohr.

"We're ecstatic with the initial Jammys lineup. The level of musicianship and the community of artists coming together at the Jammy Awards is something that we're all proud of, " says Jonathan Schwartz, Jammys Producer. "From Booker T. and Sharon Jones to Galactic and Page McConnell, this year is stacked."

Critically acclaimed for creating once-in-a-lifetime collaborations between the likes of John Mayer and Buddy Guy, Ryan Adams and Phil Lesh, Sinead O'Connor and Burning Spear, Béla Fleck & the Flecktones with McCoy Tyner and Savion Glover, Travis Tritt and the Disco Biscuits, and Peter Frampton and Guster, The Jammys was founded as an alternative to mainstream award shows. The Jammys is a celebration of the best in live improvisational music performance that pairs the brightest lights on the jam music scene with stars from the pop, rock, reggae, gospel and jazz realms.

Peter Shapiro, co-creator of The Jammys (with Jambands.com founder Dean Budnick), is the former owner and operator of the influential New York rock club, Wetlands Preserve. Shapiro is a filmmaker whose credits include the critically acclaimed U2 3D, the IMAX concert film All Access and Chick Corea's Rendezvous in New York DVD box set. He is also the Executive Producer of the Green Apple Festival, which will celebrate Earth Day on April 20, 2008 with eight simultaneous festival events across America.
