Dean Anthony Morrow Sr. Honored by Cambridge Who's Who

Dean Anthony Morrow Sr., a member of The Phillies Intruders, a four-man vocal singing group that toured the U.S. with other oldies acts such as The Delfonics, The Temptations, The Stylistics, The Dramatics, The Chi-Lites and others, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for his vocal arrangement, stage performance and song writing expertise.

Morrow, a phenomenal vocalist with a five octave range, formed his first group, "Space & The Angels, " in 1962. From 1964 to 1967, he was bass and second tenor for "The Camaros" and in 1967, he founded a local group called "The Golden Chandelier" with two of his siblings. Five years later, his youngest sibling, Gilbert Morrow joined the group. In the ensuing 10 years, "The Golden Chandelier" performed thousands of local shows before disbanding in 1977.

Since 1977, Morrow has been lead vocalist of "Soul Brothers LTD, " another local band. He was also lead singer of "The Ink Spots, " which featured bass player Billy Byrd, from 1984 until 1991. Next, Morrow founded "The Dean List, " an eight-piece vocal band that is still performing today. In addition, Morrow was a first tenor lead vocalist with the former Motown recording artists "Ron Thorpe & The Hearts of Stone." Moreover, since 1990, he has been lead vocalist for "The New Directions Evangelical Rock-n-Roll-n-Rhythm-n-Blues Revue, " a 14-piece musical ensemble based in Harrisburg, PA.

Morrow graduated from Lansdowne Alden H.S. in the late 1960s. He received his associate of arts degree in arts and science in 1971 and attended Temple University from 1972 to 1973. He also spent five years at The Philadelphia Music Academy studying theory and voice. Morrow has been a bass, lead vocalist and vice president of The Philadelphia County Assistance Office Mass Choir since 1996 and directs The Morrow Brothers gospel group.
