Adam Rudolph & Moving Pictures Tour East Coast

Adam Rudolph's Moving Pictures Will Tour East Coast in Support of New Justin Time Release, Dream Garden Feb. 27 - Mar. 2, 2008, feat. Hamid Drake, Graham Haynes, Ned Rothenberg, Kenny Wessel, Shanir Blumenkranz, Brahim Fribgane and Steve Gorn. Justin Time Records is proud to announce the release of Dream Garden by hand drummer, percussionist and composer Adam Rudolph's Moving Pictures. Hailed by the NY Times as "a pioneer in world music" Rudolph's expansive vision of musical expression cannot even be limited by a phrase as broad as that.

Rudolph first achieved international recognition through his long associations with two of the most musically diverse contemporary masters - the late, iconoclastic trumpeter Don Cherry and the legendary multi-reedist Yusef Lateef (a relationship that is still intact). He has released over 22 recordings as a leader/co-leader, most recently conducting his 30-piece Go: Organic Orchestra and with his acoustic/hip-hop/world rhythm group Hu: Vibrational (produced by internationally renowned DJ, Carlos Niño of production duo Ammoncontact).

Rudolph's depth of direct musical experience in a full palette of worldwide traditions was built upon the foundation of his Southside of Chicago roots. His experience growing up through the blues world of Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf to the hallowed chambers of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra by way of a road paved by the groundbreaking AACM (Association for Advancement of Creative Musicians), has resulted in a most singular approach to the rich tapestry of contemporary music drawn from ancient traditions.

Rudolph designed the 14 original compositions that comprise Dream Garden specifically for the musicians in his now 16-year-old band: Moving Pictures. He carefully chose the musicians who would be performing them, and then composed vehicles for their particular voices - all in order to produce what he describes as "the alchemy of the whole."

Together the musical credits of theses artists span the entirety of contemporary music. Clearly, Rudolph's conception of the music contained on Dream Garden demands every bit of that experience and knowledge.
