Patti Austin's Three Projects

Patti Austin continues to effortlessly move between genres with three current projects celebrating radically different musicians. She's putting a new spin on George Gershwin standards, charting with a Luther Vandross classic and her live show featuring Ella Fitzgerald interpretations continues to garner raves.

Austin's endearing version of Luther Vandross' "So Amazing" has been among the most added songs at Smooth Jazz radio since its release in early January according to Radio & Records. This week alone, R&R reports that the song moved 4 spots from #23 to #19. "So Amazing" is the new single from the album 'Forever, For Always, For Luther Volume II' which also features performances by Kirk Whalum, Jeff Lorber, Wayman Tisdale and Jonathan Butler.

Her forthcoming album, 'Avant-Gershwin, ' is set for release March 6 and goes beyond standard covers by offering new and adventurous arrangements of Gershwin classics.

Austin's live show featuring music from her 2002 GRAMMY nominated album 'For Ella' still thrills audiences around the world. The Cleveland Plain Dealer said of her show that she "delivered on all counts." Austin has several performances confirmed including a stint with the Ft. Worth Symphony in Texas from January 18-21 and Ft. Lauderdale, FL on February 10.
