Carefree Resort & Villas Introduces Jessi Colter

Arizona's Carefree Resort & Villas announced a month-long celebration of Southwestern romance, kicking off with a private Valentine's Day concert by country music star Jessi Colter and a new series of romance packages. The event will be Colter's first live performance leading up to the February 21 release of her new CD, Out of the Ashes, and will feature giveaways of advance copies of this recording as well as a guest appearance by country music legend Tony Joe White, the artist behind hits like "Polk Salad Annie" and "Rainy Night in Georgia."

Original country "Outlaw" Jessi Colter breaks a 20-year silence as she prepares to release Out of the Ashes, her first new solo album since 1984. Produced by Grammy award winner Don Was, Out of the Ashes marks a grand return to Colter's roots, with songs steeped in the blues and gospel tradition of country music. The album features guest vocals by Colter's son Shooter Jennings, personal friend Tony Joe White, and even a voice from the past -- legendary superstar Waylon Jennings, Colter's late husband. Out of the Ashes arrives in stores February 21, 2006 from Shout! Factory. Among Colter's career highlights is a collaboration with Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson and Tompall Glaser to release "Wanted! The Outlaws, " the first Nashville album to go platinum.
