Ysis Entertainment Inc. announced the launch of "Classics in Black, " a new arts series that showcases top professional Black artists in the classical arts. Classics in Black will
feature stellar performances in music, theatre, classical instrumentation, ballet and poetry.
The first Classics in Black presentations of 2006 will feature two outstanding performances: Marion J Caffey's Three Mo' Tenors (February 18, 2006) and world renowned mezzo soprano Denyce Graves (March 16, 2006).

The first performance will feature the Three Mo' Tenors. Conceived, directed, and choreographed by Marion J. Caffey, Three Mo' Tenors takes the audience on a passionate musical journey of opera, jazz, gospel, soul, spirituals, new school, Broadway and the blues. The tenors of Three Mo' Tenors have developed a rousing musical repertoire with extraordinary breadth, and through song and explosive choreography, elevate the stature of African American Tenors in the music world. Three Mo' Tenors has captivated audiences since the show was televised on PBS' "Great Performances" and RCA released the recording of the show.

A rare Canadian recital by world renowned mezzo soprano Denyce Graves is the second Classics in Black presentation. Recognized worldwide as one of today's most exciting vocal stars, Denyce Graves' expressive, rich vocalism, elegant stage presence and exciting theatrical abilities will delight audiences on March 16. Graves' recital programs include classical repertoire of German Lieder, French mélodie, and English art song, as well as the popular music of Broadway musicals, jazz, and American spirituals. Of her New York recital debut, The New York Times wrote, "her voice is dusky and earthy. She is a strikingly attractive stage presence and a communicative artist who had the audience with her through four encores."
