Mobile and Social Gaming Company, PerBlue, Raises $800K

PerBlue recently completed an $800,000 Series A financing round led by the Golden Angels out of Milwaukee, with additional investment from groups in Seattle and San Francisco.

PerBlue's most popular title is Parallel Kingdom, which is available for Android devices and iPhones. Parallel Kingdom uses the real GPS location of the player to place him or her in a "parallel virtual world" on top of a real world map. The virtual world is full of creatures, buildings, and resources. Players can interact with other players in real time, claim territory, build buildings, and more. Parallel Kingdom is free to download and play, and it recently surpassed 200,000 player accounts. Revenue comes from the sale of a virtual good called Food, which is required for certain features.

PerBlue was founded in 2008 by University of Wisconsin-Madison graduates. The company has grown to nine full time employees and is already profitable.
