Koelnmesse International Organises German Pavilion at the GDC in San Francisco

The Game Developers Conference San Francisco (USA) is under starter's orders. From 23 to 27 March 2009 San Francisco will once again become the Mecca of programmers, designers, producers, sound experts and decision-makers in the international games industry. At the invitation of the German Association of Computer Game Developers (G.A.M.E.), Germany is participating with its own group stand at the Game Developers Conference 2009. Koelnmesse International, a subsidiary of Koelnmesse, was entrusted by Berlin's Ministry of the Economy and Technology with organising and staging the German pavilion. A total of 17 of the nation's companies will appear at the stand covering 200 square metres, including Bigpoint, Frogster Interactive Pictures, Chimera Entertainment and the gamescom team. The stand, number 5428, is in the North Hall of San Francisco's Moscone Center.

The gamescom team is taking advantage of its visit to the US to give the attending players and media detailed information on gamescom, the new trade and event highlight in Cologne (19-23 August 2009. GDC Europe is a well known offshoot of GDC San Francisco and takes place in the run up to gamescom (17-19 August 2009). The joint presence in the US is, at the same time, another international impulse that Koelnmesse is relying on in the run-up to gamescom.

The Berlin government's official overseas programme will promote exports and support SMEs in particular in tapping new markets. Companies who attend this trade show under the "Made in Germany" flag benefit not only from good terms, but also the shared infrastructure and marketing measures. Besides the pavilion at the GDC San Francisco, Koelnmesse International is also organising joint German appearance for all sectors at home in Cologne's trade show scene. To ensure its strong presence on the US market in the future, G.A.M.E. is already backing a renewed appearance at the Game Developers Conference in 2010.
