The Simpsons Game Has Shipped in North America

Electronic Arts announces that The Simpsons Game has shipped in North America and will ship in Europe on November 2nd. Created in partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising, Twentieth Century Fox Television and Gracie Films, The Simpsons Game is an original script created by the TV show's writers and voiced by the original cast from the TV show. The result is the funniest, most irreverent, exciting and authentic Simpsons video game experience ever.

In 2007, The Simpsons celebrated their historic 400th episode, as well as the release of their first animated film, The Simpsons Movie, which has grossed over $520 million worldwide at the box office, hitting the No.1 slot in the first week. Now fans of this multi-award-winning television series are ready for the next major milestone: The Simpsons Game.

With parodies of the video game industry, pop culture and current events, The Simpsons Game has the same subversive humor and delightfully smart wit as the critically acclaimed TV series. Play along as your favorite yellow, dysfunctional TV family members, Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie, battle to break free of the video game world and save Springfield. Each 'Simpson' has special abilities unique to his or her personality: smash as Homerball, zip-line as Bartman, rally Mobs as Marge, or unleash Lisa's Hand of Buddha! With over 40 minutes of new animated scenes by the show's writers - it's like getting two never-before-seen episodes of the Simpsons. Add that to over 8000 lines on in-game dialogue, and the Simpsons game is a must-have for any fan of the show.

Under development by EA's Redwood Shores Studio, The Simpsons Game is scheduled for release on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 2 computer entertainment system, PlayStation Portable system, Xbox 360 videogame and entertainment system, Wii, and Nintendo DS. The Simpsons Game has been rated "T" with descriptors of Alcohol and Tobacco Reference, Animated Blood, Cartoon Violence, Crude Humor, Language, Suggestive Themes by the ESRB.
