Major League Baseball's 78th All-Star Game Hits the Shores of McCovey Cove

FOX Sports presents Major League Baseball's 78th All-Star Game, live and in high-definition from San Francisco's AT&T Park, Tuesday, July 10 (8:00 PM ET/5:00 PM PT). For the first time ever, the network celebrates the Midsummer Classic across several platforms within the FOX Sports family of outlets, including a live Webcast of All-Star Game batting practice available on FOXSports.com on MSN and an MLB All-Star Game Red Carpet Special on FSN.

In an unprecedented offering, FOXSports.com on MSN and MLB.com, the official website of Major League Baseball, give fans the opportunity to watch an All-Star batting practice session live on the Web as part of a special pregame Webcast. Co-hosted by FOX Sports' Chris Rose and Harold Reynolds of MLB.com, the two-hour Webcast begins at 5:00 PM ET and offers an up-close look at MLB's biggest stars taking their final warm up hacks. The presentation also includes exclusive on-field interviews with All-Star players and coaches, analysis of the season's first half and live coverage of the official All-Star team photo shoot. This unique Webcast is co-produced by FOXSports.com and MLB.com, streamed live and free to all users logging on to either site.

FSN's Best Damn Sports Show Period once again showcases the MLB All-Star Game Red Carpet Special Presented by Chevrolet on Tuesday, July 10 (7:00 PM ET/4:00 PM PT), immediately preceding FOX Sports' game coverage. Created in 2005 to celebrate the MLB All-Stars arrival at the ballpark, this one-hour event has become a favorite of players and fans alike.

Chris Rose, two-time MLB All-Star Rob Dibble and FSN reporter Charissa Thompson follow the 2007 All-Stars as they board a fleet of Chevy Silverados and Impalas at San Francisco's famous Pier 32 and arrive in front of AT&T Park for interviews conducted near the Willie Mays statue. FSN's MLB All-Star Game Red Carpet Special Presented by Chevrolet also features contributions from special guests including Hall of Famers Ozzie Smith and Harmon Killebrew.

When it's time for the evening's main event, MLB on FOX's Emmy award-winning broadcast team of play-by-play announcer Joe Buck and analyst Tim McCarver call the action live from the nation's most picturesque ballpark. Jeanne Zelasko and analysts Kevin Kennedy and Eric Karros host pre- and post-game coverage. MLB on FOX's Ken Rosenthal and Jose Mota serve as in-game reporters, and Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder and FOX Sports player analyst Eric Byrnes also contributes to the broadcast.

This year's All-Star contest again has the added significance of the winning league securing home-field advantage in October's World Series. This year's Midsummer Classic marks the fifth in which this format has been in place and each of the previous four victories have gone to the American League. The American League has not lost an All-Star Game since 1996, and will attempt to extend the streak to eleven years on July 10th, conjuring memories of the National League's impressive run that spanned from 1972-1982.

McCarver, a two-time National League All-Star catcher (1966 & 1967), is calling his 16th All-Star Game, the most by any broadcaster in the sport's history. Buck is preparing for his ninth All-Star assignment; Kennedy his eighth; Zelasko hosts her seventh Midsummer Classic; Rosenthal works his second as a reporter for FOX Sports; and Mota makes his network television ASG debut.

To bring viewers the sights and sounds of the fifth All-Star Game hosted by the Giants, and the third since moving west in 1958, over 20 cameras and 75 microphones will be positioned throughout AT&T Park. Umpires, as well as coaches, catchers and first baseman for each league, will be miked and in-game interviews with All-Stars, managers and coaches are scheduled throughout the broadcast.

To service the millions of Spanish-speaking baseball fans nationwide, FOX Sports is providing a Spanish language simulcast of this year's All-Star Game utilizing the SAP (secondary audio program) format.

Pete Macheska, the lead producer of Major League Baseball on FOX, produces his fourth All-Star Game broadcast and Bill Webb directs his 10th Midsummer Classic. Gary Lang produces pre- and post-game segments. Scott Ackerson is the Coordinating Pregame Producer. Bill Brown is the Senior Producer. David Hill and Ed Goren are the Executive Producers of FOX Sports.
