Turbo Squid Signs Kohnke Communications

Turbo Squid has signed Kohnke Communications. Kohnke will assist Turbo Squid with strategic public relations initiatives and the upcoming launch of GameFlood, the premier marketplace for creating and playing add-on video game content. As part of the agreement, Kohnke will handle media relations and corporate communications, as well as provide industry consultation and strategy for both GameFlood and its parent company, Turbo Squid, for ongoing projects.

GameFlood is set to capitalize on the mods and mapmaking industry by leveraging Turbo Squid's expansive community of over one million developers, artists, designers, and gamers. The site is designed to bridge the gap between independent and professional game developers and publishers, and serve as the premier online destination for modders, mapmakers, and gamers to create, customize, exchange, and play third-party game content.

GameFlood is backed by a team of experienced technology industry veterans and has been formed as an entirely new division under Turbo Squid. As an official partner and supporter of the Microsoft XNA platform, Turbo Squid's library of compatible 3D models provides users of Microsoft's XNA Game Studio Express with the high-quality 3D art assets that they need to bring their XNA-based video games to life.

Mods have become one of the most important and fast-growing aspects of the PC gaming industry. Upwards of one million games per day are hosted on dedicated servers for the popular multiplayer Half-Life mod, "Counter-Strike." GameFlood is in a unique position to take advantage of this growing market by providing tools and technologies to help gamers extend and elevate their PC gaming experience.
