Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning - Karak Eight Peaks Overview

Karak Eight Peaks is, fittingly, named for the eight mountain peaks that surround the former Dwarf stronghold. The city itself was constructed at the bottom of a large depression, creating a natural amphitheatre. The exterior of Karak Eight Peaks serves as an imposing example of Dwarf engineering, for the very mountain peaks themselves form the crenellations of their battlements. However, the interior of the city, with its massive, ornately-wrought walls makes the inviolate nature of its outer defenses pale in comparison.

Karak Eight Peaks became a bastion of Dwarf strength in the southern regions of the Worlds Edge Mountains and an important stop on the trading routes from Karak Azul to the Dwarf holds of the north. Thus, it was all the more devastating when the fabled city fell.

'Eight Peaks', as the greenskins call it, is now the seat of power of the Bloody Sun Boyz, and the city bears little resemblance to the great Dwarf hold that it once was. Orc graffiti stains the walls, and piles of refuse line the avenues. Intricately-carved statues are defaced with crude totems and ragged banners, and the delicate filigree of gold and gromril that once adorned the high walls has been chipped and gouged out.

Deep within the fortress, Warlord Grumlok waits as tribes of Orcs and Goblins from across the Old World journey to the fallen hold to join the gathering Waaagh. When his army has grown mighty enough, Grumlok will lead his horde on a path of conquest that will take the greenskins to the very gates of Karaz-a-Karak. There, they will attempt what no other greenskin Waaagh. has been able to do ? conquer the capital city of the Dwarfs.
