Project Gotham Racing 3 Tournament

Continuing on with our series of pro videogaming events, we're jumping straight back into the lions den that is Xbox Live and joining forces with the guys at Joystick Junkies to bring you a car racing pro videogaming extravaganza in the shape of Project Gotham Racing 3.

Extreme will be bringing you a 90 minute exclusive show on 2nd September, which brings a head to toe account of this unique PGR 3 tournament, including the epic final that will take place at the Ripspeed Donny Show on the 13th August.

There have been a few changes to what was previously posted here, so read on and you'll discover all you need to know.

Xbox Live heats to find 8 of the 16 finalists will take place from 4th-10th August, where we'll be looking for one winner each night to go through to the finals at Ripspeed. On the 7th night we're also taking the 2nd placed driver from each night and holding a wild card race to find an 8th finalist. A further 8 contestants will be chosen from heats taking place at the Ripspeed event on the morning of the 13th August, so if you're not on Xbox Live come to Ripspeed Donny and you can take part in the same format of heats in the morning to win one of eight final slots.

Taking place at the Ripspeed Donny South car show at North Weald Airfield, Essex on Sunday 13th August, 20.000 car enthusiasts will witness a massive outdoor party all centred around a giant 20ft x 15ft LED screen where the main Project Gotham Racing 3 showdowns will take place, plus a tent where you'll find heats, new games to try out on pods, side games, a chill out space, and other wonderous forms of entertainment.

You better be on your best behaviour because the gorgeous Joystick Junkies girls are going to be hosting the event at Ripspeed Donny. Not only will these lovely ladies be showing off their wares, they will also be judging the matches, looking after registration and hosting a special Girls vs Boys tournament.

All 16 finalists will receive an Extreme Sports Channel goodie bag and Joystick Junkies t-shirts plus more prizes to be announced. As well as the glory of racing to victory in front of all your mates on TV, the overall winner will be picking up a ton of swag plus ?500 cash.

Once registration is closed you will recieve an email which assigns you a night between Friday 4th and Thursday 10th August to take part in a heat (10pm-1am), what time you should be available on Xbox Live and the name of the judge that you should send a friends request to, plus any relevant information.

If you win a heat you must be prepared to travel to the Ripspeed Donny show in North Weald airfield, Essex, UK on Sunday 13th August (you will recieve 2 free tickets). Travel expenses are not covered for finalists. If you are not able to attend the finals, the second placed winner of your heat willl automatically qualify, and so on.
