Atari Announces 'Arthur and the Minimoys' for Mobiles

Atari has announced the signing of a deal to bring Arthur and the Minimoys to mobile phones across Europe from November 2006. Based on world famous film director and writer Luc Besson's 'Arthur and the Minimoys' animated feature film, the game is currently also in development for PlayStation 2, PSP (PlayStation Portable), Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance, and the Windows platform, and all platforms are planned for European release from the end of 2006.

The game allows players to relive the fantastic adventure of young Arthur and his two pals, Selenia and B?tam?che, in their mission to save the Minimoys' world from destruction. The game will incorporate Besson's entire Minimoy universe and its tiny inhabitants (just a couple of millimetres tall) with the richness and extraordinary visuals of the film.

The unique and innovative game concept revolves around the teamwork of the trio (Arthur, Selenia and B?tam?che): players can only progress by cleverly combining the three characters' skills. In solving mysteries and overcoming obstacles, players will realize that anything is possible when you work together.

The mobile phone game is developed by MIG, based in Lyon, France. The PS2 and PC versions of Arthur and the Minimoys are in production with Lyon- and Paris-based Etranges Libellules, creator of several successful animated games, including Asterix XXL and Kirikou. The PSP, Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance versions are also currently in development.
