Dominions 3 Updates

Until now there were a few ways you could find out the latest, up-to-date progress on the coding of Dominions 3: The Awakening.

You could have:
- Pestered the Shrapnel Games PR guy. (Hey, we could all use more spam in our life, right?)
- Pestered Illwinter Game Design. (After all, it's not like they're working on anything important.)
- Flown to Sweden, stalked Illwinter Game Design, and then kidnapped them. (Fairly illegal.)
- Perform a sacrifice at the Gates of Ur-hel-senthel, calling upon Those That Watch From Beyond The Veil to show you the truth in the Pool of Metlar. (Umm, perhaps you shouldn't have eaten those mushroom growing in your laundry hamper after all.)
- Be patient. (What??)

Now there's an easy way to find out what's happening with Dominions 3 that doesn't involve felonious activity. Illwinter Game Design has graciously put up a page detailing what's happening in the world of Dominions 3 code so that fans from around the globe can keep abreast. Clean and to the point, the page only takes a second to check out. You can find ithere.

Dominions 3: The Awakening, for those of you who have not been paying attention in class, is the sequel to 2003's Dominions II: The Ascension Wars, the multi-OS turn-based fantasy title that took the world (this one, and the next) by storm. Building on the foundation of greatness laid in the very first Dominions, Dominions 3 is an epic struggle to attain godhood, using any and all means to do so. Sacrifice, assassinate, wage war, all in your quest for ultimate power and prestige, and all from the comfort of your own home.

Command troops chosen from over 1500 possible units and fifty different nations. Battle in three Ages, using more than 600 spells and 300 magic items. Play against twenty other opponents, either AI controlled or human. A simultaneous turn-structure means no waiting in even the largest games, and a random map generator means never having to play the same scenario twice. Mod-making is fully supported, and indeed encouraged. Create the fantasy world you've always wanted to. Battle for Amber, Middle-Earth, or Westeros.

Currently in late beta, Dominions 3: The Awakening will be playable on Windows, Mac, and Linux machines.
