Rob Zombie's Hellbilly Deluxe Released on Multiple Formats

Rob Zombie's 1998 macabre masterpiece "Hellbilly Deluxe: 13 Tales Of Cadaverous Cavorting Inside The Spookshow International" debuted in the Top 5 and was a certified triple platinum smash. A realization of his vision of the darkside -- a mix of classic horror films and sleazy pop culture, creativity and extremity -- "Hellbilly Deluxe" was a pinnacle of hard rock. Now Zombie's most popular and best-selling album to date is presented in a special CD+ DVD package -- as well as in the Universal Media Disc format designed exclusively for the Sony PlayStation Portable.

"Hellbilly Deluxe - Deluxe Edition" (Geffen/UMe), released November 22, 2005, features the complete original album on CD plus a DVD of the 15 Zombie-directed music videos, i.e., a complete video album. Nine of the videos are previously unreleased: "Call Of The Zombie, " "Perversion 99, " "How To Make A Monster, " "Meet The Creeper, " "The Ballad Of Resurrection Joe And Rosa Whore, " "What Lurks On Channel X?" and "The Beginning Of The End" plus never-before-released videos for remixes of "Living Dead Girl" and "Return Of The Phantom Stranger." The expanded packaging also features added artwork from artists David Hartman and Dan Brereton.

The videos also come alive for the handheld PSP, which features DVD quality images and sound thanks to advanced encoding technology. A PSP, with a high-definition 4.5-inch LCD monitor, can average about four hours of continuous use before recharging. On December 6, UMe will issue its first four UMD Music Video collections -- Rob Zombie's "Hellbilly Deluxe - Deluxe Edition, " Bob Marley's "Legend, " Prince's "Live At The Aladdin" and Depeche Mode's "One Night In Paris."

"Hellbilly Deluxe, " co-produced by Zombie and Scott Humphrey (Metallica, Motley Crue), was the first original album with Rob Zombie as the name on the marquee rather than that of his previous band, White Zombie. The album starred the hits "Superbeast" (Top 30 Mainstream Rock), "Living Dead Girl" and "Dragula, " the latter pair Top 30 Modern Rockers, and all three were supported by videos.

All four Zombie major label original albums have gone platinum-plus: 1991's "La Sexorcisto: Devil Music Vol. 1, " 1993's "Astro-Creep 2000: Songs Of Love, Destruction And Other Synthetic Delusions Of The Electric Head, " "Hellbilly Deluxe" and 2001's "The Sinister Urge." He has also been part of five Grammy nominations, and won MTV's Video Music Award for Best Hard Rock Video for the Zombie-directed "More Human Than Human."

On the big screen, Zombie has written and directed the successful feature films "House Of 1000 Corpses" and 2005's "The Devil's Rejects." Zombie's latest project, slated for summer 2006, is "The Haunted World Of El Superbeasto, " an animated feature based on Zombie's popular comic series Spookshow International. Zombie is currently in the studio with producer Scott Humphrey finishing his latest album.
