Button frenzy British Olympians...head to Asia

The videogames Olympics semifinals comes to London on Saturday, the 29th from Noon in the NamcoStation in London's County Hall. 14 of the best of British finger-button-bashers will be chosen to fly to Singapore to take part in the finals against the rest of the world.

Every year the WorldCyberGames Finals takes place in Asia with the top video-game players from around the globe battling it out for Gold medals and superb prizes that befit the "Olympics" of computer gaming. Last year alone the Finals carried a staggering ?200, 000 prize fund spread across many different genres, from button-bashing beat-em-ups to the mouse-clicking frenzy of strategy games.

This year the UK will be sending an elite team of 14 players to Singapore to attend the World Finals and to join this squad couldn't be easier. At these Finals you should visit our special tournament stand and attempt to set the fastest single lap time over the Grandview Station track on the high-octane PC game Need for Speed Underground 2.

The person who has set the fastest circuit time when the competition closes will be selected to represent the UK team at the World Finals in Singapore. You'll receive free flights and accommodation as part of the team, experiencing the truly unique culture that is Singapore whilst also having the chance to win one of many prizes by participating in the main tournament against the top Need For Speed players on the planet.

It doesn't cost a penny to attend the UK Finals as a spectator, nor to take part in the Samsung Need for Speed Challenge, you can have as many attempts as you like and our dedicated stand will be running two instances of the game from the moment the doors open until 9.00pm to ensure everyone who wants to have a go is able to.
