Defining tomorrow's technology at the 2006 CES

The very latest technology from more than 2, 500 global companies will be unveiled at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, 5-8 January 2006.

The world's largest consumer electronics tradeshow, the 2006 International CES - run by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) - will showcase consumer technologies from wireless, electronic gaming, digital imaging, home entertainment, digital audio and video, mobile electronics, broadband, content media, home networking and information technologies. Covering over 30 products areas the 2006 International CES will take over 1.5 million net square feet of exhibition space at the Las Vegas Convention Center, the Sands Expo & Convention Center, the Las Vegas Hilton, Renaissance Hotel and the Alexis Park. Last year's event saw some 130, 000 attendees a figure that is set to increase in 2006.

Some of the biggest names in the industry will be attending and delegates will be able to listen to keynote addresses given by Bill Gates, chairman and chief software architect of Microsoft Corp., Gary Shapiro president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), Sir Howard Stringer, chairman and CEO of Sony Corp., as well as Paul Otellini CEO of Intel and Terry Semel chairman and CEO of Yahoo!Inc.

NEW! to 2006 International CES is Innovations Plus, based at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre, Innovations Plus will showcase digital imaging, enabling technologies and emerging applications by representing more than 100 exhibitors and some of the hottest new technologies which are shaping the future of the CE industry. Innovations Plus will also include a Robotics TechZone.
