KOEI reveals next-generation video game tech demo

Sony Computer Entertainment held the "PlayStation Meeting 2005" at the Tokyo Prince Hotel. At this event, two game companies were selected to give presentations about the next-generation PlayStation?3 game system. One of those companies was KOEI , and KOEI's Founder and Chairman Keiko Erikawa gave a rousing speech for the packed meeting hall.

Ms. Erikawa presented an all-new, real-time demo using the PlayStation 3. This demo took full advantage of the PS3 hardware, and wowed the crowd with its smooth animation and life-like detail.

While KOEI presented their PlayStation 3 title "NI-OH" at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, the demo shown at the PlayStation Meeting was for a completely new title. Currently, Koei is making progress on multiple PS3 titles.

Afterwards, Sony held the "PlayStation Awards 2005, " where Koei's Dynasty Warriors? series garnered two awards.

"Dynasty Warriors 5" won a Platinum Prize for sales of over 1 million units in Japan. Since the release of "Dynasty Warriors 2, " each entry in the series has won this award, and it can be said that Dynasty Warriors is one of the PlayStation 2's premier action franchises.

In addition, Dynasty Warriors for PSP? (PlayStation?Portable)won a Special Prize for sales of over 300, 000 units in Japan. Dynasty Warriors for PSP? (PlayStation?Portable) was one of only three games to win this honor.

"The 'Dynasty Warriors' series was created to launch with the PlayStation 2, " said Mr. Takazumi Tomoike, the producer of the Dynasty Warriors series. "It's an honor to receive this award, and I would like to thank all the fans who have supported us. We'd like to create something for the PlayStation 3 that will gain similar acclaim."
