Pro Evolution Soccer 5 Update

Arsenal and France legend Thierry Henry returns as face of Konami's latest football classic.

Thierry Henry, star of Arsenal, the French international side, and European and English Golden Boot winner for the second consecutive year, has agreed to be the face of Konami of Europe's eagerly-awaited Pro Evolution Soccer 5.

As part of the deal, Henry will appear on the packaging of all European versions of Pro Evolution Soccer 5. It marks the second year Konami of Europe and the striker have worked together, with Henry appearing on the box of last year's million-selling Pro Evolution Soccer 4.

Born in 1977, Thierry Henry is a legend in the modern game. During Arsenal's 2004/2005 season, the striker scored 41 goals in all tournaments, helping Arsenal to second place in the English league and earning him his second successive European and English Golden Boot awards for goals scored. Now in his seventh year at Arsenal, the player is also an integral part of the French international side and is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most admired strikers in the world.

"I have been playing Pro Evolution Soccer games for over ten years now, " commented Henry. "It was great to be the face of such a realistic and engrossing football title, so I was delighted to return for the newest version. I look forward to being closely involved with the creation and promotion of what promises to be a stunning game."

"We have a vision of football and how it should be interpreted as a video game, " commented Martin Schneider, European Marketing & PR Director for Konami of Europe.
