Future of Transportation World Conference to be held in Cologne for the first time
Koelnmesse's range of guest events is growing. From 5 to 6 July 2017, the two-day Future of Transportation World Conference will be held in Congress Centre East of the Cologne exhibition grounds.
Around 160 international speakers will hold presentations and panel discussions about the latest developments, trends and challenges associated with the future of freight and goods transport. The experts will come from renowned automakers, technology and software companies, and rail industry and aviation specialists such as Daimler, Ford, Siemens, Uber and Panasonic, as well as from transport authorities. The speakers will also include urban planners and notable insurance and legal experts from companies such as Allianz, Axa, Bird & Bird and Accenture Strategy.
"We are delighted that the organizers have decided to hold the event at the Cologne exhibition centre. Our state-of-the-art convention concept, the hotels close to the exhibition centre and the optimal transport connections are key factors for our customers' choice of a venue. This is especially the case with such an internationally focused event as the Future of Transportation World Conference, " says Sandra Orth, Managing Director of Koelnmesse Ausstellungen GmbH, the Koelnmesse subsidiary responsible for guest events and the event business.
The two-day transport conference is divided into seven topic areas, in which up to 30 experts will hold presentations and panel discussions that offer insights and forecasts concerning the future development of global freight and goods transport until the year 2030 and beyond. The event will focus on topics such as getting transport off the ground and into the air, the legal and technical issues of self-driving vehicles, the challenges for rail transport and the taking into account of sustainable, environmentally compatible and resource-conserving conditions.
