IWA OutdoorClassics 2016 breaks new records in its 43rd year

Once again, the IWA OutdoorClassics has managed to set new benchmarks. From 4 to 6 March 2016, the leading international trade fair for hunting and shooting sports, outdoor equipment and civilian and official security saw a rise in exhibitor numbers to 1,455. On a total exhibition space of almost 95,000 m2 over ten halls at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg, the event also welcomed more than 45,000 trade visitors from all over the world (up from 1,379 exhibitors and 41,748 visitors in 2015).

This year, the international contingent was also exceptionally high, with eight out of ten exhibitors and almost two thirds of trade visitors travelling from other countries to the IWA OutdoorClassics in Nuremberg. Of the 56 countries represented at the event, Germany, the USA and Italy accounted for the highest number of exhibitors. The top ten countries in respect of visitor numbers were Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, France, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK and Switzerland. Specialist dealers from around 120 countries worldwide including the USA, Canada, Mexico, South Africa, Namibia, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Argentina, Brazil and Peru flocked to Nuremberg for this leading industry gathering.

"As organisers, we are not just delighted by the ongoing expansion of the IWA OutdoorClassics overall as it celebrates its fifth decade; we also welcome the evenly distributed growth over the three key exhibition segments of Target Sports, Nature Activities and Protecting People, " says Thomas Preutenborbeck, Director Exhibitions at NürnbergMesse."

The next IWA OutdoorClassics will take place from 3 to 6 March 2017 at Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. The IWA OutdoorClassics is organised by NürnbergMesse and sponsored by VDB (Association of German Gunsmiths and Gun Traders) and JSM (German Firearms and Ammunition Manufacturers Association).

This event is exclusively for trade visitors; children and young people under 18 years of age are not allowed to attend. Tickets for the IWA OutdoorClassics will be issued only to visitors from appropriate specialist suppliers, official bodies and security companies on submission of relevant credentials.
