New trade fair in Nairobi, Kenya
The joint venture between Trade and Fairs East Africa and Planetfair Group will launch a third trade exhibition in the hub of East Africa - the supply chain and logistics trade fair Scalex East Africa. Scalex will take place from 1 – 3 March 2016 in the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi and is organized in cooperation with Messe Frankfurt.
As transportation and logistics is a major point for the infrastructure industry, the organizers have decided to implement a networking platform for the industry in the East African exhibition calendar. The fair is held concurrently to the construction and infrastructure trade fair CIBEX East Africa. Since CIBEX also covers the infrastructure sector in its profile, the decision was close to held the shows parallel. The Scalex show profile covers transport solutions for Rail, Road, Air and Sea, Infrastructure topics backed by governmental bodies, financing and projects and logistics solutions for agriculture, industry and warehousing. "This will help the East Africa´s transport and logistic industry in getting international partners and accelerate their success", says Skander Negasi (CEO of Trade and Fairs East Africa).
A free matchmaking service adds value for visitors and exhibitors enabling them to meet their counterparts to build up contacts for a business future in the long term. Specialized conference slots, round tables and discussion panels will inform about themes like trends in logistics, innovations, country projects and the role of transport and infrastructure solutions for logistics as well as logistical education.
"Planetfair looks forward to the third trade fair of our joint venture in Kenya, organized with our partner Trade and Fairs East Africa in cooperation with Messe Frankfurt. With Scalex we will implement an international business platform for the expanding transportation and logistics market in the booming region East Africa", said Ingo Kloever, CEO of Planetfair Group.
"With our partners, we have worked very hard on the concept of Scalex East Africa and I am very much looking forward to it", adds Michael Johannes, Vice President Mobility & Logistics, Messe Frankfurt. "Altogether, this is our third trade fair in the field of Transport & Logistics. Since 2001, we have been successfully organising the Materials Handling Middle East show in Dubai, which has now established itself as the international platform for the internal logistics sector and, since 2003, the rail-logistics sector has been meeting up every two years at RailLog Korea in Busan."
