Tendence 2015: Home&Trend Award spotlights trendy and innovative products in the furnishing sector

The consumers have voted and selected the products characterised by top product utility and quality as the winners of the Home&Trend Award. Thus, the independent seal of quality represents a valuable orientation aid for professional buyers and consumers. This is the fifth time that the LifeCare Initiative has given the coveted award at Tendence in cooperation with Messe Frankfurt. As Germany's most important trend and order platform in the second half of the year, Tendence is the ideal venue for the award winners to reach a professional audience from Germany and abroad. The winning products can be seen in Hall 9.0 (Stand D36).

The Home&Trend Award is aimed at outstanding furnishing products. All award-winning products are distinguished by excellent design, innovativeness, functionality / ease of operation, product benefits and good ergonomics or by ecological aspects, such as resource-friendly production. The award is given in two categories: 'Consumer' and, for the first time this year, 'Hotel furnishings'. "We know that modern hotel furnishings often give guests inspiration for their own homes", say Harald Schultes, President of the LifeCare Initiative. "With the inclusion of the new category, we now give professional buyers for hotel products the chance to find outstanding products characterised by suitability for everyday use, design and sustainability." The awards are given on the basis of voting by consumers and hotel guests. Beforehand, a jury of architects, hoteliers and design and lifestyle experts nominates outstanding products. "Thanks to this procedure, the focus shifts to the needs of consumers and hotel guests. Selection for the Home&Trend Award reflects a high level of product quality and functionality, and constitutes honest feedback and confirmation for the manufacturers and product developers", says Schultes.

The award-winning products are also nominated for the European Award of the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC), which is given for excellent design and sustainability, and is being presented for the third time running within the framework of Tendence and Ecostyle. "We were pleased to choose the LifeCare Initiative as our partner, this year too, because the Home&Trend Award has exactly the same objectives as we have, that is to say, to represent the interests of society and the consumer actively and sustainably", explains EESC Vice President Jane Morrice.

Tendence, the international consumer-goods event
Tendence (29 August to 1 September 2015) is Germany's most international and biggest order fair in the second half of the year and is distinguished by an extensive portfolio of products from the living, furnishing, decorating, gift articles, jewellery and fashion requisites sectors. Last year, 37 percent of the exhibitors at Europe's most important autumn trade fair came from 51 different countries. At this new-product platform, top brands and key players present their Christmas trends and thus offer the national and European retail trade the chance to place follow-up orders for the Christmas season. Simultaneously, exhibitors show their collections for the coming spring and summer season. Trade visitors are also targeted by Ecostyle, Trade Fair for Sustainable Lifestyle Products in the European Retail Trade, and Webchance Academy, Lecture Forum for Successful Online Advertising and Sales, which are held concurrently with Tendence. Additionally, Eat & Lifestyle, a food and lifestyle event aimed at consumers, will be held on the eastern section of Frankfurt Fair and Exhibition Centre parallel to Tendence 2015.
