HOLZ-HANDWERK and fensterbau/frontale 2014: convincing quantity and quality at exhibition duo

The exhibition duo HOLZ-HANDWERK and fensterbau/frontale ended on Saturday, 29 March 2014, with a new record result. Over 108,000 trade visitors, some ten per cent more than at the previous event in 2012, found their way to Nürnberg during the four days of the exhibitions. Completely undaunted by token strikes in the German air traffic sector, more than 37,000 visitors from all over the world poured into the halls on the second day of the event alone – a top figure that has never been achieved on a single day by any other event in the history of the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg. Altogether 1,320 exhibitors from 39 countries presented current know-how and lots of innovations from the sectors concerned.

Full halls, enthusiastic visitors and highly satisfied exhibitors – an apt description of this year's HOLZ-HANDWERK and fensterbau/frontale. Both events, which take place in parallel in Nürnberg every two years, were impressive in every respect with an outstanding combination of quantity and quality on the part of both exhibitors and visitors.

HOLZ-HANDWERK: the exhibition hummed!
Not only the machines were humming in the halls of HOLZ-HANDWERK, but business too at this year's gathering of the woodworking industry. With 524 exhibiting companies from 18 countries, the 17th edition of HOLZ-HANDWERK, the European Trade Fair for Machine Technology, Equipment and Supplies for the Wood Crafts, presented the top players in all segments. Carpenters and joiners from all over Europe could once again see for themselves the varied possibilities for working the material wood and the power of innovation of their trade.
The special show organized by the Fachverband Schreinerhandwerk Bayern (Bavarian Carpentry Association), which presented current design and technology trends in the woodworking trade in a vivid and inspiring way, was particularly well attended.

fensterbau/frontale: the sector's international beacon
Top-quality products and presentation – the 796 exhibitors at fensterbau/frontale 2014 sparkled with an unparalleled spectacle on the four days of the exhibition. The companies came to Nürnberg from 37 countries all over the world to present the whole spectrum of possibilities for the key themes of energy efficiency, sustainability, automation and design. These themes were not only found on the stands of the exhibiting companies, but in the supporting programme too. The big attractions for visitors were the special show "Vibrant research – for vibrant lives", which was organized jointly by ift Rosenheim, the Fachverband Glas, Fenster, Fassade (Glass, Window and Facade Association) Baden-Württemberg, NürnbergMesse and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety, the Forum Architecture under the title of "ART IN ARCHITECTURE", and the presentation of the Innovation Award on the second day of the exhibition.

HOLZ-HANDWERK is organized by the Fachverband Holzbearbeitungsmaschinen im VDMA (German Woodworking Machinery Association) and NürnbergMesse GmbH. The co-sponsors of HOLZ-HANDWERK are the two associations, the Fachverband Schreinerhandwerk Bayern (FSH Bayern) and the Fachverband des Maschinen- und Werkzeug-Großhandels e.V. (FDM –Association of Machine and Machine Tool Wholesalers). The organizer of fensterbau/frontale is NürnbergMesse GmbH. The honorary sponsors are the Fachverband Glas Fenster Fassade Baden-Württemberg, the Landesinnungsverband des Glaserhandwerks Rheinland-Pfalz (Rhineland Palatinate Guild of Glaziers) and the Landesinnungsverband des Bayerischen Glaserhandwerks (Bavarian Guild of Glaziers). fensterbau/frontale is also a founding member of the Global Fair Alliance of world-leading window exhibitions and is involved with ift Rosenheim in the International Strategic Partnership Fenestration.
