Techtextil 2015: a centre for textile innovations

Four halls, four days and a new Monday-to-Thursday schedule: This clear further development of Techtextil in Frankfurt sets the course for further growth. From 4 to 7 May 2015 the international textile and clothing industry will be meeting for the 16th time at the leading international trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens. Techtextil will thus be running in parallel with Texprocess, the leading trade fair for processing textile and flexible materials. Registrations for Techtextil are now being accepted.

With double-digit growth figures among exhibitors and visitors in 2013, Techtextil consolidated its position as the global hub of a highly innovative industry. "Over 27,400 trade visitors admired and bought innovative products from 1,330 exhibitors. The stands were sometimes overcrowded, and visitors had to wait for long periods of time. Moreover, many exhibitors and visitors said they would appreciate more time for the parallel exhibition, Texprocess, " says Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt. "We therefore decided to change the trade fair format and opened a new hall that would meet numerous requests for bigger stands."

Techtextil will be supplemented by a comprehensive accompanying programme, including expert presentations and competitions on current developments and trends in research and industry. The thematic blocks will be based on three global trends: lightweight construction, multifunctionality of textiles and sustainability. Technical textiles and nonwovens provide increasingly innovative solutions for these and other challenges – and indeed across all sectors of industry.

Thanks to the clothing expertise of Texprocess, Techtextil will put a major joint focus on four areas of application: Clothtech, Medtech, Protech and Sporttech. "By using the new Hall 6.1, we are providing more space for these areas and also for the growing product group of functional apparel textiles. The close spatial proximity to the simultaneous Texprocess exhibition will above all benefit trade visitors from the clothing industry, as it provides them with a wider range, " says Braun.

Techtextil is a leading international trade fair, featuring all the product groups and applications in technical textiles and nonwovens. In June 2013 over 27,400 trade visitors from 97 countries came to see innovations presented by 1,330 exhibitors from 48 countries. About 44 per cent of all Texprocess visitors also decided to gather information at Techtextil. In all, the trade fair duo recorded 1,652 exhibitors and 40,000 international visitors.
