Key features on the Fitur Know-How & Export 2014 Agenda

Boosting the internationalisation of Spanish companies, promoting intelligent tourist destinations and supporting entrepreneurs will all be key features of the agenda at Fitur Know-How & Export 2014, an initiative organised by the Spanish State Department for Tourism through the auspices of SEGITTUR, in collaboration with FITUR and ICEX España, Exportaciones e Inversión.

Following the success of the first staging of this initiative, Fitur Know-How & Export will continue to promote international expansion with a forum that features the participation of nearly 40 Spanish companies linked either directly or indirectly with the tourist industry.

Programme of Activities
Fitur Know-How & Export will also present a coinciding Activities Programme, organised in collaboration with the UNWTO. The aim of this programme will be to present the business opportunities available to Spanish tourism companies on all five continents throughout the world, specifically in the markets of Colombia, Azerbaijan, Morocco, Jordan and Haiti.

Google Glass at FITUR
The first tourist application for Google Glass will be presented within the framework of Fitur Know-How & Export, providing an insight into all of the possibilities that these new devices entail for tourists. In this respect, users will be introduced to an entire universe of possibilities and a different way of experiencing the tourist destination in question.
Throughout the course of Fitur Know-How & Export, the finalists for the "The App Tourism Awards" will also be presented. This is an initiative organised by
SEGITTUR in collaboration with FITUR, whose awards ceremony will take place on 23 January at 6.00 pm. In total, some 125 applications have been entered for the Competition, of which 68% correspond to the category of National Apps and 32% to the category of International Apps.

Within the National Category, the cultural tourism apps are the most numerous, featuring 34 entries, followed by the following: tourist services (31), active tourism (10) and sun & beach tourism (9). Some 41 applications were entered for the International Category, with 21 apps focusing on boosting the tourist's experience and the remaining 20 consisting of destination guides.
Support for Entrepreneurs
Entrepreneurs will also have their space at Fitur Know-How & Export, given that a consulting service will be made available for those entrepreneurs who are interested in entering a project for the Emprendetur scheme. Furthermore, a roundtable will be organised featuring the participation of the leading players within the tourist entrepreneur ecosystem. This session will conclude with a presentation of some of the projects that have received financing from the Emprendetur Programme.
