5th Ethical Fashion Show Berlin takes off with a dynamic start

For the fifth time, the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin, the international trade fair for fair and eco-street and casual wear held in Berlin, will be the meeting point for contemporary design and alternative business models. From 14 to 16 January 2014, manufacturers and designers from around the world will present their 2014/15 autumn/winter collections at ewerk in Berlin Mitte. The spectrum will range from urban street and casual wear clothing for women, men and children to shoes, lingerie, jewellery and accessories. The exhibitors are trend-setters for street and casual wear brands, with a clear focus on ecology and ethics and refuse to compromise when it comes to good design.

"Every season, fair eco-fashion is drawn a bit further into the centre of public attention. The fashion industry is looking for sustainable answers to social and ecological challenges – answers the exhibitors at the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin have long since found, " says Olaf Schmidt, Vice President Textiles & Textile Technologies at Messe Frankfurt, organiser of the Greenshowroom and the Ethical Fashion Show.

Registration has started
The Ethical Fashion Show Berlin will take place during Berlin Fashion Week. Together with the Greenshowroom, which focuses on sustainable high fashion and has been relocated to Kronprinzenpalais, the Ethical Fashion Show will constitute the largest platform for ecologically and fairly produced fashion. The two events, organised by Messe Frankfurt, form the European centre for fair eco-fashion and are the leading B2B trade fairs in this segment.

The previous Ethical Fashion Show Berlin in July was completely sold out with 73 exhibitors filling two halls at the ewerk. Registrations for the fifth edition have started and the following labels have already signed up: Elementum, Format, Grand Step Shoes, Harold's, HempAge, John W. Shoes, Komodo, Lanius, Nurmi, Quagga, Göttin des Glücks, Sey Organic Jeans, Studio Jux and Zerum.

Peak is the keyword …
Peak Oil, Peak Natural Fibres, Peak ... The peak has been reached! Not only are we running out of natural resources, we are also experiencing the collapse of social systems in low-wage countries such as Bangladesh. The global economy needs to change its way of thinking – on many levels. Against this background, the exhibitors at the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin will demonstrate that new ways of economising are possible. They are pioneers, providing early answers to current and future questions the conventional fashion industry is barely beginning to ask. During the show, peak will be the keyword of several presentations and discussion rounds and will also serve as the special theme for a press tour through the halls.

Dutch Eco Design: royal cooperation with the Netherlands
The Netherlands will be the Eco Design partner of the Ethical
Fashion Show Berlin and Greenshowroom in January. The
exhibitions at ewerk and Kronprinzenpalais will focus on Dutch Eco Design. Brands including Studio Jux and Mud Jeans have won a series of design and sustainability awards and – together with Elementum, Goodforall, Pälää and many others – are exemplary labels representing sustainable Dutch design.

Shuttle service and registration
The low-emission shuttle service provided by Mercedes-Benz will connect the Ethical Fashion Show Berlin at ewerk with the Greenshowroom at Kronprinzenpalais, Premium at Gleisdreieck, and the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin tent on all three days to enable visitors to move between locations quickly and conveniently.
