New venue for Greenshowroom: Berlin Kronprinzenpalais to host high fashion event

Change of venue for the Greenshowroom: the international platform for sustainable high-end design is moving to new premises in the crown princes' palace, the Berlin Kronprinzenpalais, for the upcoming Berlin Fashion Week. From 14 to 16 January 2014, two floors of this elegant building situated in the heart of Berlin (Unter den Linden 3, Berlin-Mitte) will play host to Greenshowroom's presentations and to the catwalk, the 'salon show'.

Greenshowroom, a fixed date in the Berlin Fashion Week diary, is now leaving Hotel Adlon Kempinski, home to this event in the past few years. The change of venue was necessary due to a double booking for the week of the Berlin Fashion Week. "Hotel Adlon Kempinski was unable to accommodate Greenshowroom for the Fashion Week in January 2014 owing to a clash with another leading event which is on here for an extended period, " explained the Hotel Adlon Kempinski Press Office. The Crown Princes' Palace is the perfect replacement venue for this event. Plus, the palace is located within easy reach of the Berlin Ethical Fashion Show (e-werk, Wilhelmstraße 43). Both events provide their own bicycle taxi and shuttle service to the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Together, these two events form the biggest platform for eco fashion in Europe, with more than 100 designers exhibiting at last year's events.

Winning showroom concept unchanged

The Greenshowroom is sticking to its showroom concept: a winning combination of luxury and sustainability in unique designs. In its new home, the grand hall of the princes' palace, the salon show will have more space than before. "As always, select designers will be showing hand-picked highlights from their collections, " explains Magdalena Schaffrin, co-founder and coordinator of Greenshowroom. At the popular catwalk exclusive, the salon show, designers from the Greenshowroom and the Berlin Ethical Fashion Show will be presenting the highlights of their new collections to an audience made up of representatives of the fashion industry, the press and celebrities.
