Chillventa Rossija Congressing 2014: topics confirmed

Chillventa Rossija enters the fourth round from 4–6 February 2014 and covers the complete spectrum of refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump technology. Chillventa Rossija Congressing offers groundbreaking information about the industry. The noted congress programme takes place parallel to the Russian trade fair in the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Center, Moscow. The advisory board of Chillventa Rossija, a body of well-known Russian experts and representatives, now presents the key topics for the congress.

The Chillventa Rossija advisory board has already confirmed the key topics for the congress. The advisory board chaired by Prof A.V. Baranenko, President of the International Academy of Refrigeration and Rector of the St. Petersburg State University of Refrigeration and Food Engineering, met in June 2013. The meeting focused on current developments in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry, the elaboration of existing regulations, the use of heat pumps and the upgrading of cleanrooms in Russia.

The motto for 2014 is "The refrigeration industry under the conditions of industrial and infrastructural development in Russia."

Conference structure
The congress agenda in 2014 includes the following sessions: plenary session, innovations in compressors, heat exchangers and automation and control, new applications and overview of the development of the heat pump market in Russia, applications for agricultural, industrial and logistics firms, energy efficiency in supermarkets, cleanrooms and air-conditioned chambers.
The congress spectrum is varied and includes energy-saving components and equipment, heat pumps in municipal and commercial buildings, and refrigeration and air conditioning for industrial and commercial use. The young professionals present the results of their research projects.

Plenary session focuses on alternative forms of energy
The demand for alternative forms of energy is rising continuously. The plenary session focuses on official standards and the promotion of energy-efficient and environment-friendly technologies. The session takes place on 4 February 2014 and marks the start of the congress.

Heat pumps in housing construction
A parallel congress session deals with heat pumps. These are also gaining importance as an alternative heating possibility on the Russian market. The applications are varied, which makes it even more essential to intensively extend the know-how already obtained on the implementation of heat pumps. The aim is to create more accurate solutions for this technology in Russia in future. The public housing construction programme also profits from the advancing developments and important investments are expected that will also have a positive impact on the development of the heat pump market. In 2014, for example, the congress will offer presentations on "Heat pumps in housing construction". Well-known companies also present their new product spectrums and show relevant examples of applications. All the presentations in this session focus mainly on complex, energy-efficient solutions.

Refrigeration in the trade and in agricultural and food production
Another session of the congress deals with refrigeration, with attention particularly devoted to the maintenance of the cooling chain in food production. This issue is becoming increasingly topical in view of the industrial policy programme for the development of agricultural firms in Russia by 2018. The aims of the programme include at least 2.5 per cent average annual growth for agricultural production. A rise of 3.5 to 5 per cent is also to be achieved in food production. Representatives from companies can obtain information and exchange views at many practical presentations on topics such as "Applications for agricultural, industrial and logistics firms". The main focus is on modern refrigeration equipment and innovative technologies for infrastructure modernization of agro-industrial complexes in the segments of refrigeration, processing and transport of products. Specific examples of the implementation of new technologies are discussed and presented in this session, which is equally intended for retail and wholesale associations, consultant engineers, project offices and refrigeration system manufacturers. A panel discussion on "Energy-efficient supermarkets" emphasizes the topicality of this subject.

Cleanrooms and air-conditioned chambers
Cleanrooms play a major role at the accompanying congress in 2014. There is a growing demand in IT technologies and in the pharmaceutical and medical industry, for example for operating theatres. Another requirement is for cooling low-temperature chambers in transfusion centres or in the storage of blood, plasma and biomaterials. From a global viewpoint, many technological processes in the medical and pharmaceutical industry must comply with the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards and thus be performed under "cleanroom conditions". Similar requirements exist in many other technological processes in the food, electrical and aerospace industries.

Conference of Young Scientists
The congress traditionally ends with presentations by young specialists and scientists, who have the opportunity to talk to potential employers and make initial contacts.
