RailLog Korea 2013 concluded with successful figures

Asia's foremost international trade and networking platform for the railway industry, RailLog Korea, took place from 12 – 15 June 2013 at BEXCO – Busan Exhibition & Convention Centre in Busan, Korea. The show concluded with successful results covering an exhibition area of 17,000sqm, a near 20 percent increase from the 14,000sqm utilised in 2011.

Mr Yong-Joon Jin, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt Korea Ltd. commented: "Taking 4th place in the world's top railway events, RailLog Korea has been establishing itself as a main networking platform for railway technology, interior fittings, infrastructure, logistics and tunnel construction. As the railway industry is currently booming in Korea and across the world thanks to the growth of eco-friendly transportation, the 6th edition attracted a good number of exhibitors and visitors as well as received exceptional exhibition space reservation, further anchoring RailLog Korea as the most important exhibition of its kind in the wider region."

RailLog Korea 2013 welcomed 158 exhibitors from 20 countries and regions as well as 21,920 visitors who attended the fair looking for sourcing and business opportunities in the Korean and international markets. Notable domestic and international players at this year's fair.

Most significantly, next-generation HEMU-430X, high-speed electric multiple unit-430km/h experiment manufactured by Hyundai Rotem, was firstly on display at the fairground during RailLog Korea. Together with Hyundai Rotem's new Hybrid low floor tram, HEMU-430X played host to interests from media, trade visitors as well as the general public. The other leading Korean company, Woojin Industrial System, showcased an eco-friendly SMART monorail that promoted pollution-free operation using electricity, while offering noise-reduced operation and enhanced safety.

For the 6th edition of RailLog Korea, France was declared as a "Partner Country", highlighted by the French national pavilion, seminar and business lunch, and hosted by French organisations. UBIFRANCE, the French agency for international business development, organised an official national pavilion for the first time, with three French companies participating. Also, the "French-Korean seminar on public transport infrastructure development and financing", as well as a business lunch was presented by the French Embassy in Korea, together with the French-Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) and the Public Private Investment Management Center (PIMAC) affiliated to KDI (Korea Development Institute).

Furthermore, several other seminars and forums covering a wide range of topics were presented, such as the International Conference sponsored by UN ESCAP, the Railway Procurement Plaza 2013, hosted by KOTRA, the Cooperation Seminar on Korea Urban Railway, Conference on "High Speed Lines in Korea" by Ansaldo STS, etc., together with various other fringe programmes such as industrial tours exclusively for qualified buyers and VIP visitors.

The next edition of RailLog Korea will be held in June 2015 at BEXCO, Busan, Korea.
